This site uses the "Designated Emergency Evacuation Site / Designated Shelter" data published by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI), processed and displayed here.

Important Notice

This data is registered by each municipality based on locations designated under the Disaster Countermeasures Basic Act. The information may not always be up to date, and some locations may not be listed. For the latest and most detailed information, please always check with the relevant municipality.

"Designated Emergency Evacuation Sites" are places to evacuate to immediately to protect your life from danger, and are designated separately for each type of disaster (flood, landslide, storm surge, earthquake, tsunami, etc). This site only shows locations designated for earthquakes.

This is different from "Designated Shelters," which are facilities where evacuees stay for a certain period of time after a disaster. This site does not currently show Designated Shelters.
